Twenty-four Nigerian-born Young Scholars Liberated More Than Seven Days After Capture

A total of 24 West African young women who were abducted from the educational institution over a week ago have been released, the country's president announced.

Attackers raided an educational institution situated within Kebbi State on 17 November, taking the life of an employee and abducting multiple pupils.

Head of state government leadership applauded military personnel for their "swift response" to the incident - while specific details regarding their liberation remained unclear.

The continent's largest country has witnessed numerous cases of abductions over the past few years - with more than numerous students abducted from a Catholic school last Friday remaining unaccounted for.

In a statement, an appointed consultant within the government verified that all the girls abducted from the school within the region were now safe, stating that this event triggered imitation captures in two other Nigerian states.

National leadership announced that more personnel are being positioned to "vulnerable areas to stop more cases related to captures".

Through another message on X, Tinubu commented: "Military aviation must sustain continuous surveillance over the most remote areas, aligning missions together with infantry to effectively identify, contain, disturb, and eliminate all hostile elements."

Over numerous youths got captured within learning facilities in recent years, when 276 girls got captured in the notorious large-scale kidnapping.

Recently, no fewer than three hundred students and employees were taken from a learning facility, a Catholic boarding school, in Nigeria's local province.
