England footballer Michelle Agyemang, darts sensation Luke Littler and cricketer Davina Perrin have been selected as contenders for the this year's Young Athlete of the Year award.

The trio have been honoured for their exceptional achievements over the past 12 months.

Agyemang played a key role in helping the Lionesses secure Euro 2025, Littler secured the world title for the maiden time, and Perrin rose to fame with a record-breaking innings.

Littler was the recipient in 2024 after his remarkable rise.

The shortlisted athletes were announced live on a national radio breakfast show.

The champion will be revealed live on the prestigious sports ceremony show on December 18th.

The event will be televised from 7 PM GMT.

The Football Star

Age: 19 Sport: Football

A mere three months after her senior team debut, Agyemang played a crucial and game-changing role in England's run to winning the Euros.

She was introduced as a substitute to score key tying goals in both the quarter-final and semi-final.

These match-saving moments led to her being named Young Player of the Tournament.

Later in the year, she was awarded the prestigious Golden Girl honour for the finest emerging star on the continent.

She was also in contention for the Kopa Trophy for the global standout among U21 women.

Agyemang, who has been on loan at Brighton from Arsenal, sustained a serious knee injury in October.

"To be named a finalist for Young Sports Personality of the Year is incredible," said Agyemang. "I'm grateful to God and I'm thankful for the support I've received from my loved ones, mentors, colleagues and supporters."

Littler's Profile

Age: 18 Sport: Darts

Littler kicked off the year in incredible form as - at just 17 years old - he became the most youthful world title winner in history.

He secured a comprehensive triumph over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His subsequent victory at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth individual to complete the prestigious triple crown of major titles.

He didn't stop there - his triumph in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he climbed to world number one for the first time.

At 18, he is the youngest man to do so, smashing the previous record.

"To receive a nomination for this award again is a big honour," stated Littler. "Winning last year was a special memory for me and I've had another incredible 12 months. I want to continue promoting darts."

Davina Perrin

Age: 19 Sport: Cricket

Perrin is one of English cricket's brightest emerging stars and burst into the spotlight with an unbelievable and unprecedented innings in August.

Her brilliant 42-ball century in The Hundred is the fastest by an English woman in T20s.

It also stands as the shared third-fastest women's T20 century in a top-tier competition.

Perrin ended up as runner-up in the season's run tally and was named the young player of the year by the PCA.

"I'm truly honoured to be named a finalist for the Young Sports Personality of the Year award," expressed Perrin. "It means a great deal. I hope it encourages more young females to get into cricket."
