Passionate fans of Ariana Grande are urging that a man who leaped a barricade and touched the celebrity during yesterday's Wicked: For Good debut be detained or expelled from Singapore.

A viral footage reveals the person identified as Johnson Wen pushing past camera operators and lunging at Grande while the actors made its way down a yellow carpet accompanied by onlookers.

Fellow actress Cynthia Erivo quickly pulled the stunned actress away from Mr Wen, who was seen being removed of the premiere by security officers.

Mr Wen stated on Instagram late on Thursday that he was "free after being arrested", though court documents showed that he was set to appear on Friday morning. It is not clear if he was faced legal action.

Pattern of Event Invasions

This is part of a pattern for Mr Wen, who calls himself a "Controversial Figure", has invaded a performance. His Instagram account includes videos of him disrupting other high-profile occasions, including jumping on stage at the pop singer's Sydney show in recently and in a similar way during The Chainsmokers performance in the city last winter.

"There needs to be action taken against him as this is clearly a criminal offence," commented an Instagram user, in a reply to a video Mr Wen uploaded of his behavior.

"You've done this repeatedly... how are you not behind bars?" another Instagram user wrote.

Followers Express Concern Over Ariana's Safety

Several fans blamed Mr Wen for "re-traumatising" Grande, who had discussed suffering from PTSD after a devastating incident at the conclusion of her spring 2017 show in Manchester, resulting in the death of 22 people and injuring many.

"Ariana has been through so many scary things... and at her Manchester concert and you thought it would be fun to jump the barricade?" said a further response on Instagram.

Several attendees also questioned security officers at the gathering for not being sufficiently alert; while some requested social media platforms to ban Mr Wen's content.

Reaction and Event Details

In clips spreading on the internet, Grande appeared surprised when she was touched by the individual. Her co-stars Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be observed comforting her while Mr Wen was led out by guards.

Grande has not issued a statement on the incident, and the premiere activities continued without further issues.

The production itself is a spin-off of the classic story The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who portrays the benevolent sorceress Glinda, was dressed in a champagne pink sparkling outfit at the gathering while Erivo, who portrays the wicked witch, wore a sleek black dress featuring roses.

They were joined by fellow actor Jeff Goldblum.

The initial film, Wicked, was the highest-grossing motion picture of last year in the UK, and earned 10 Oscar nominations, securing several for excellent wardrobe and set decoration.
