Recent Details Surface Concerning the Location of the Reiner Couple's Bodies

Fresh particulars have surfaced about the tragic passing of renowned filmmaker Rob Reiner and photographer Michele Singer Reiner, whose remains were found at their Brentwood, Los Angeles home on Sunday.

The Discovery

A source indicates quoting a confidential source, a practitioner scheduled for an appointment first raised the alarm after being unable to gain access the house. The practitioner then reached out to the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who resides nearby.

After gaining access to the residence, Romy found her father's body. Accounts indicate she then exited the property overwhelmed with grief, unaware at that moment that her mother's body was also inside. Her roommate who had gone with her then dialed 911. Following this, first responders found Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Legal Proceedings

Law enforcement have formally accused the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with the charges of first-degree murder, as well as the use of a dangerous weapon, reportedly a knife. He is currently detained without bail.

Disputed Reports

The anonymous source challenged several previously reported details. The source indicated that while Romy Reiner told first responders that her brother Nick resided in a guesthouse on the property, she did not identify him as a suspect at that juncture.

The source also refuted widely reported notions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been especially "worried" about Nick's actions in the preceding period. Instead the family was "accustomed to working through [Nick's] problems together."

This refutation also extends to accounts of reportedly "erratic" conduct by Nick at a party held by Conan O'Brien the evening prior to the discovery. While the source said they were not in a position to confirm whether Rob had "rebuked" his son at the party, they maintained that claims of a "blow-up" between the two were not correct.

Ongoing Inquiry Details

According to law enforcement sources, the coroner had yet to determine at that point whether the Reiners died on Saturday evening or on Sunday. Some media reports suggested the condition of their bodies suggested they had been deceased for a number of hours.

Nick Reiner was arrested at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park area, roughly 15 miles from the family home. He was set to have a hearing on Tuesday, but his attorney, Alan Jackson, said his client had a medical issue and would not appear until Wednesday at the earliest.
