According to new allegations from a informant, Ghislaine Maxwell, currently serving a two-decade sentence for trafficking offenses, is reportedly preparing a clemency request for consideration by the Trump administration.

Preferential Handling Claimed at Federal Prison

House Democrats on the House judiciary committee revealed that a source provided evidence indicating the inmate is preparing the commutation application. Additionally, they mentioned she has been receiving special treatment at the minimum-security facility in the Lone Star State.

Representative Jamie Raskin, the ranking member on the committee, stated in a news release that the facility's chief was “helping” Maxwell with copying, printing, and sending documents to aid her effort for executive mercy.

Specific details of the “commutation application” remain unknown, Raskin added.

Alleged Privileges and Special Accommodations

Raskin states that, per the insider, the prisoner has been given specially prepared food that are hand-delivered to her living area, and the warden has individually organized exclusive visits for her and her visitors.

These meetings allegedly include a “special cordoned-off area” for visitors and a variety of food and drinks for her associates.

Those visiting Maxwell were also reportedly permitted to bring computers, which Raskin described as an “unprecedented action” given the security risk and chance of unsupervised contact.

Reportedly on one occasion, when communications failed for other inmates, Maxwell was provided directions about instructing her contacts to contact and how personnel would connect the communication to her.

Supervisor Acting as Assistant

The source also allegedly told congressional members that when Maxwell wanted to examine and modify papers promptly, she “essentially used” the warden as her “personal secretary and administrative assistant”.

The statement states that Maxwell’s correspondents would email documents directly to the warden, who would provide them to Maxwell, for her to examine and change and return them to the warden to digitize and send to the initial correspondent.

Additional Privileges Reported

Other privileges allegedly granted to Maxwell include opportunities to interact with a trainee assistance dog – a perk typically prohibited – as well as exclusive nighttime use to the facility's gym.

Maxwell’s attorney has not yet replied to a request for comment regarding the whistleblower’s claims.

In a statement, the presidential office said that it “does not comment” on possible pardon appeals.

“As President Trump has stated, granting clemency to Ghislaine Maxwell is not something he has considered,” the spokesperson noted.

Recent Background

Over the weekend, reports surfaced that she told close associates in emails from prison that she was “much happier” at the new prison than her former location.

In August, she was transferred from a low-security prison in Tallahassee, Florida to the less restrictive prison in the state, where most detainees are serving time for non-violent offenses and white-collar crimes.

The transfer, which authorities called as exceptional, occurred just days after she was questioned about the Epstein case by the senior justice official, the official, who also once acted as Donald Trump's private attorney.

This questioning came as the administration was facing mounting pressure to disclose additional files related to the Epstein investigation and amid widespread conjecture around the President's own personal ties to the disgraced financier and adjudicated criminal, who was found dead in a New York jail in that year while awaiting prosecution on trafficking accusations.

Lawmaker Reactions

Through the statement, the congressman also revealed that he had sent a letter to Trump, requesting explanations about the insider's claims, and called on the chief executive to reject the clemency appeal.

“It would be inappropriate to approve any form of clemency to this convicted and unrepentant sex offender,” Raskin wrote in the document. “The government must not offer her with room service, with puppies to play with, with government agents attending to her requests, or with any preferential handling or facility benefit at all.”

The congressman asked that Blanche attend a open legislative session to discuss the revelations and also posed three questions to the President.

He inquired whether he had discussed a potential commutation for the convict with the official or others, whether he had instructed Blanche or anyone else to provide her with the transfer or favorable and preferential treatment in detention, and whether Maxwell, her lawyers, family or representatives have made any commitments to the President or his attorneys.

Raskin has asked for a response to the inquiries by the specified date.

Last month, the nation's highest court declined to hear an petition from the convict on her sex-trafficking conviction.
